When, Why & How:
All Pinellas HMIS users are required to complete annual refresher training to ensure compliance with HUD and local CoC policies. Annual refresher training consists of DCF HIPAA Basics, DCF Security Awareness, Pinellas HMIS Privacy & Security, and HMIS Data Entry courses. These courses reinforce best practices in data privacy, security, and protecting client information, ensure users are aware of current standards, and help users keep their HMIS knowledge fresh.
Each calendar year, all end-users are assigned their annual refresher training courses through Talent (LMS) and are notified by Pinellas HMIS staff when these trainings are available. Users must complete their refresher training by the provided due date to remain active in the system. Failure to complete training on time will result in an inactive license status/suspended access until the requirement is met.
More information on Annual Refresher training can be found in the Annual Refresher Training section of the Help Desk.
